Moscow to Moscow Pre-ride Itinerary

As with all the best laid plans, our final itinerary was very different from the one we published pre-ride. Despite skipping a day in Vilnius, Lithuania, to catch the Mid-summer Festival in Riga, and having to cut Prague from the itinerary due to illness, we still achieved over 6,500 miles.

We were waved off from Waltham St. Lawrence on 11th June by the Rt. Hon. Theresa May, Home Secretary. Our first night was spent at Abington, Lanarkshire, some 40 miles east of Ayr, where we attended the Scottish Classic Motorcycle Show the following morning, before travelling on to our official send off from Moscow, Ayrshire. On our way back from Scotland, we camped overnight at Buxton, Derbyshire, then regrouped for the Ace Cafe event on Thursday, 16th. Peter Williams was unable to attend, but award-winning Elvis impersonator, Ben Portsmouth, made it a memorable evening.

We arrived back in Moscow, Ayrshire, on Wednesday, 13th July. Over five weeks, we passed through twelve countries and crossed seventeen national borders (including Scotland). It was a whistle-stop tour and there are many wonderful places that we will certainly revisit at some point in future.

    I would love to join your tour but unfortunately I am heading in the opposite direction in June, entering UK the day you leave…
    I hope you find a lot of riders joining you on your tour – great idea anyway!
